About the Author

The first seed for my love for reading came from my 3rd grade teacher. She first read aloud Inkheart to us, and then promptly carried on to the world of Gregor the Overlander. From the years ever since then I've been reading. But by fifth grade I had begun writing my own short stories. I'm now currently a  high school senior and 17-years-old. My love for writing is shared with a love for acting. Likewise, I've participated in 9 musicals and more than 20 local performances for both singing and dancing. I've also been featured in films for my youth, writing career, and love for reading and acting. Furthermore, I won a scholarship from the Chandler-Gilbert Community College for Creative Writing my freshmen year, and have published some of my works in places like 22 Across and Teen Ink. I love giving back to my community by participating in annual HOPE Worldwide Homeless Carnivals, donating clothes, feeding the hungry both personally and anonymously (St. Vincent De Paul/Orphanage trips and Stop Hunger NOW). Serving and volunteering your time is a great way to keep yourself both aware of the world around you and humble in your daily life.

I maintain another blog called "The Heart of a Painter" about fashion and DIYs. Emerald Butterfly now has a blog, a website, a Twitter page (@Emeraldbuterfly), and a Facebook page.

The sequel to Emerald Butterfly is titled Sapphire Dragonfly and is currently underway! To keep me motivated I always remember that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
